Science for Std 2 - a challenge

This is a page from my daughter's std 2 science book. Match the picture on the left to the right. See if you can get the answers right.

I will like to know what answers I will get.

Kat, that was exactly what Laura answered (with my help). Three out of four wrong. Only Pix 1 matches with Pix 2 right. The pictures on the right aren't very clear what their intentions are. Well, I'll be seeing the teacher on Monday to see what she says and which is right.

noto, you must have often been mistaken for a girl when your name is called in Mandarin :D

Hmm, the teacher got it wrong.

Eat too much, you put on weight (1=2)

Don't eat at all, you end up skinny with sunken cheeks (2=4) -- though they should have drawn him looking a bit more cadaverous, IMHO.

Skip your veggies, you end up with constipation (3=1), though frankly they should have drawn the kid straining on the loo to make this clearer.

Prance about abstaining from a good, stiff drink after a good curry masala with sambal on the side on a hot, sunny day and you end up mugging someone and stealing their bag desperately looking for a drink while flapping your hand in front of your face to cool down your tongue, all in all looking like a loon (4=3).

Seriously though, what other possible conclusions could Laura have come to?! Given the scant clues provided by the artwork, those are the most logical choices. Kudos to her for figuring it out, considering the poor cartooning/art direction/editing of the book.

And do let us know what the teacher comes back with yah? Given a little imagination, ANY combination could have been arrived at!

Yup, Don, the drawing is so bad. There are several possibilities to the answer.

Pic 1 = Pic 2 or Pic 3 (assuming Pic 3 is constipation)
The boy has been eating all meat and carb. No veg.

Pic 2 = Pic 4
If the picture means the boy hasn't had any appetite to eat. However, Laura's teacher has marked that wrong! So which is correct? Pic 1? He gets sick? What the heck is Pic 3 supposed to say anyway?

Pic 3 (Boy not eating veg)
Can be Pic 1 (he gets sick) coz immune system compromised. The teacher marked this wrong. Pic 3 is what? He feels like stomping around?

Pic 4 (Boy not drinking)
Can be Pic 1, he gets sick from sunstroke. Or Pic 3, whatever it is.

Don, if you think the illustration is bad. Have you taken a look at the covers of the text books? Designed by someone who doesn't know anything about design. Ultra colourful, ultra busy!

Anon, that was my daughter's answer too but her teacher insists that it's not the optimum answer *roll eyes*
